shocker retraction

I recently experienced two things that gave my heart an unexpected jolt.

First jolt: I was hit by a car in 명동 (Myeongdong). 명동 is insanely crowded, people walking in the streets with no regard for automobiles. As I was dazzled by the bright lights, I felt someone bump into my shoulder. It was harder than the normal jostling you endure in this city, so I turned around with a semi.annoyed look that turned into sheer surprise at what I saw: a van, the driver with his jaw dragging onto his steering wheel and real fear in his eyes. It wasn't that severe, but I think I have whiplash... just can't tell if it's mental or really physical.

Second jolt: I discovered my first legit white hair. Not the tip that was turning white, but at the root. Is this possible? I still feel as though I am nineteen. Real shocker.

I was walking in 용산 (Yongsan) the other day and came across protestors blocking off the streets. They were asking for retribution for some civilians who has lost their lives in a fire. The scene was electrifying -- camera crews, people crying, shouting, arguing. I turned a corner and... silence. It's funny how just one street over, there was quiet and peace. I suppose it's like that in life too. When I sit on the subway, I wonder what turbulence is going on in the lives of those around me. Let's be nice to everyone, for they're all struggling with something or another.
